Özet	Throughout history, there is the expectation of rescuer in almost every society. People wait for someone to come and save themselves in difficult times. There are many reasons for this expectations. Each society gives a meaning to the savior according to its inner conditions. Some Muslim societies have also entered this expectation to some extent. In this context, in Islamic culture, the concept of rescuer has found meaning with the concept of mahdi. Religious, psychological and sociological aspects have been influential in the emergence of this understanding. In this study, we discussed the perception of mahdi, in the sampling of theology faculty. We limited our study to Siirt University Faculty of Theology students. We tried to investigate mahdi perception based on different gender, age and class criteria. As a result of the surveys, the data provided important clues about the mehdi perception of the students of theology.
